- Ship to: CA, AZ, NV, OR, WA, NM, ID, CO, WY, ND, NE, MN, DC
- Do NOT ship to: UT, TN, MA, AK, WV, HI, KY
- Also no: PO Boxes, APO/FPO.
- We may contact you if your state has special restrictions.
Processing & shipping
- Processing: 1–3 business days (Mon–Fri).
- Weekend/holiday orders → next business day.
- Busy periods (holidays/releases) may take longer.
- Carriers: UPS, GLS, FedEx or licensed equivalents.
- Rates based on weight, distance, box count, packaging, carrier rates.
- Multi-box orders may incur extra shipping charges.
- If actual cost is much higher, we may request approval before shipping.
Weather
- We may hold shipments during extreme heat/cold.
- If you insist on shipping in unsafe temps, you accept all heat/freeze risk.
- Once picked up by carrier, we are not responsible for weather damage unless insured and explicitly covered.
Title & legal responsibility
By ordering, you confirm:
- You are 21+.
- It is legal to receive alcohol at your address.
- You will follow local/state alcohol laws.
- Sail-In Liquor does not guarantee legality outside CA.
- Any taxes, duties, penalties in your state are your responsibility.
All sales final
- No returns or exchanges on correctly delivered alcohol.
Damaged shipments
- Contact us within 7 days of delivery.
- Provide order number + clear photos of bottles and packaging.
- We may issue store credit, replacement, or refund depending on carrier insurance.
- In some cases, damaged items must be returned before reimbursement.
- Shipping charges are non-refundable.
Defective bottles (corked/leaking/unopened faulty)
- Report within 30 days of purchase.
- Keep bottle, cork, and receipt.
- No guarantee on wines 5–7+ years past vintage.
- Taste preference ≠ defect.
Heat / storage damage (after delivery)
No refunds/returns for damage caused by:
- Heat exposure
- Freezing
- Improper storage
- Packages left outside after delivery attempts
In-store pickup
- Must be picked up by the same person who placed the order.
- Bring: Valid 21+ ID, Credit/debit card used for purchase.
- Orders not collected within 30 days may be restocked.
- Long-term holds may incur $5–$10 per bottle storage fee (based on duration).
Taxes
- Within CA: CA sales tax based on delivery address.
- Out-of-state:
- Tax may or may not be charged at checkout.
- You may owe use tax in your state.
- Consult your tax advisor for details.
Packaging & insurance
- All orders packed with protective materials.
- Optional shipping insurance may be available.
- Insurance covers loss or breakage in transit only.
- Does not cover heat/freeze damage unless explicitly added and approved.
